How to Build Farmhouse Cabinet Doors

Materials:

1x6 pine boards
1x8 pine boards
Wood glue
Clamps
Nail gun
1-1/2 inch brad nails
Wood filler
Sandpaper
Paint or stain

Instructions:

Cut the boards.
- For the stiles (vertical pieces), cut two 1x6 boards to the desired height of the door.
- For the rails (horizontal pieces), cut two 1x8 boards to the desired width of the door.
Assemble the frame.
- Apply wood glue to the edges of the stiles and rails, and then clamp them together to form a frame.
- Allow the glue to dry completely.
Attach the panels.
- Cut two 1x6 boards to the desired length of the panels.
- Apply wood glue to the inside edges of the frame, and then place the panels inside the frame.
- Clamp the panels in place and allow the glue to dry completely.
Nail the frame.
- Once the glue has dried, secure the frame by nailing it together with 1-1/2 inch brad nails.
- Countersink the nails slightly below the surface of the wood.
Fill and sand.
- Fill any gaps or nail holes with wood filler, and then sand the surface smooth.
Paint or stain.
- Paint or stain the door to your desired finish.
- Allow the paint or stain to dry completely before hanging the door.
