How To Build A Mirrored Jewelry Armoire

A mirrored jewelry armoire is a great way to store your jewelry and keep it organized. It can also be a beautiful piece of furniture in your bedroom or dressing room. Building your own mirrored armoire is a great project for any DIYer.

Here are the essential aspects of building a mirrored jewelry armoire:

Materials:

3/4-inch plywood
1/4-inch plywood
1/8-inch hardboard
Mirror
Wood glue
Clamps
Nails
Screws
Sandpaper
Stain or paint
Hardware

Tools:

Circular saw
Jigsaw
Drill
Countersink bit
Hammer
Nail gun
Screwdriver
Sanding block
Paintbrush or sprayer

Instructions:

Cut the plywood to the following dimensions:

Two 24-inch x 36-inch pieces for the sides
Two 12-inch x 36-inch pieces for the top and bottom
One 24-inch x 12-inch piece for the back

Assemble the armoire by gluing and nailing the sides to the top and bottom. Next, attach the back to the armoire.
Cut the 1/4-inch plywood to the following dimensions:

Two 11-inch x 35-inch pieces for the shelves
One 11-inch x 12-inch piece for the drawer face

Attach the shelves to the armoire using wood glue and nails. Center the shelves and make sure they are level.
Cut the 1/8-inch hardboard to the following dimensions:

One 11-inch x 35-inch piece for the drawer back
Two 5-inch x 11-inch pieces for the drawer sides

Assemble the drawer by gluing and nailing the drawer back to the drawer sides. Next, attach the drawer face to the front of the drawer.
Cut the mirror to fit the opening in the front of the armoire.
Attach the mirror to the armoire using wood glue and glazing points.
Sand the armoire and apply a stain or paint.
Attach the hardware to the armoire.
